Military Rifle Matches
The military rifle matches are predominately shot on a 4 foot military target (black and yellow) and the smaller figure 11 and 12 targets. The Fig 11 and 12 targets are those small pesky hard to see ones.
Competitors are encouraged to use a military issued rifle. However any rifle can be used to participate. Scores recorded using a field rifle in military rifle matches will be counted towards a different set of competition prizes.
Rifle categories are SRA – standard as issued, SRB – modified with Central Sights and/or heavy barrel, SRC- as issued Sniper Rifles (up to Korean War) or issued military rifles (again up to Korean War) fitted with telescopic sights (Maximum 8 power)
Military Match 1
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by single snap on figure 11 target – 10 x 4 second exposures, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 2
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by double snap on figure 11 target – 5 x 8 second exposures, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 3
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by single snap on figure 12 target – 10 x 4 second exposures, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 4
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by double snap on figure 12 target – 5 x 8 second exposures, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 5
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by rapid on 4ft target – 1 x 50 second exposures, 2,3,4,5,V hits.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 6
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by rapid on figure 12 target – 1×50 second exposure, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 7
2 + 10 application (4ft Target) followed by rapid on figure 11 target – 1×50 second exposure, scoring rings to count.
100, 200, 300m distance – 22 rounds required.
Military Match 8
Rapid on figure 11 target (2 sighters ntc) – 1 x 60 second exposure 5/4 points per hit, followed by a single snap on figure 12 target (2 sighters ntc) – 10 x 4 second exposures 5/4 points per hit.
100, 200, 300m distance – 24 rounds required.
Military Match 9
(The 18Bn Trophy – this match is for No1 Mk3 Lee Enfields and is shot prone, regardless of the distance.)
2 + 15 application with convertible sighters, maximum score 75.15 on standard fullbore target.
200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800m distance – 17 rounds required.
Military Match 10
(.303 Match)
2 + 14 application with convertible sighters, maximum score 70.14 on standard fullbore target.
300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800m distance – 16 rounds required.
Military Match 11
(Visitors Match)
2 + 8 application (4ft Target) with convertible sighters, maximum score 40.8.
200m distance prone – 10 rounds required.
Military Match 12
(Club Match)
2 + 15 application (4ft Target) with convertible sighters, maximum score 75.15.
200m distance prone – 17 rounds required
Princess Louise Match
This match is shot at 300, 200 and 100 meters. Starting at 300m and moving to 200 then 100 meters after all competitors have completed the course of fire at each distance.
300m prone on a military target – 2 sighters and then a 10 shot application, then 1 exposure of 50 seconds – 10 shots in that time (total 22 rounds).
200m sitting or kneeling – Fig 11 target, 2 sighters then 5 exposures of 8 seconds, 2 shots per exposure (total 12 rounds).
100m standing – Fig 12 target, 2 sighters then 10 exposures of 3 seconds, 1 shot per exposure (total 12 rounds).
Total match – 46 rounds
THE LONG TAN – 200m Prone
Match 1 Application, 2 sighters convertible then 10 counting shots to score on a 4ft Military Target. As each shooter completes the application shoot their score card to be returned to Range Officer. (Maximum score 50.10)
Upon completion of the application shoot Match 2 will be conducted, then shooters to the butts.
Match 2 Rapid, 2 sighters (not convertible) then, 10 shots to score on Figure 13 Target. One exposure of 50 seconds.
Match 3 Double Snap, 2 sighters (not convertible) then, 10 shots to score on Figure 11 Target. 5 x 5 second exposures.
Match 4 Single Snap, no sighters then, 10 shots to score on a Figure 12 Target. 10 x 3 second exposures
Total 46 rounds including sighters.
